FIPWiSE Short learning resources

Under the FIP Women in Science and Education (FIPWiSE) initiative, the “FIPWiSE Toolkit for Positive Practice Environments for Women in Science and Education” was developed as a resource to raise awareness on key factors influencing workplace environments and offers tailored strategies to enable positive practice environments for professionals in science and education, employers (e.g., academic and research institutions, pharmaceutical industry), and policymakers (e.g., national professional bodies).

To support stakeholders in effectively using and implementing the toolkit, FIP plans to develop a structured set of short learning resources highlighting key elements of the toolkit and how to implement them. A total of 30 flashcards serve as an interactive and accessible resource, aligning with the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action—a milestone in global gender equity advocacy. These flashcards focus on the five key factors outlined in the toolkit:

  • Factor 1 — Equal incentives for equal work;
  • Factor 2 — Work-life balance;
  • Factor 3 — Creating supportive and safe working environments;
  • Factor 4 — Opportunities for professional development, recognition and empowerment;
  • Factor 5 —Women in leadership.

Each set of short learning resources was developed in 3 different formats: a short video, a set of cards (pdf version), and a one page document.
